Say 'Shalom' and welcome this new blog

What's going on in jewish germany? Formerly jewish 'terra cotta' - now home of more than 100.000 jews and one of the fastest growing communities.
This blog will cover the most recent developments from an "inside perspetive"...

  • Hi Chaijm,

I found this through your comment. It's something very special to know that the numbers of Jews are growing rapidly in Germany. Have you lived in Germany your entire life? I visited right after high school, took lots of pictures, but unfortunately didn't keep track of what I was taking them of - so I have a bunch of beautiful photos of castles and things that I have no idea what they are! One place I do remember was Munich. Many of my ancestors are from Germany (I've got a very German last name), partly why Germany holds special significance to me.

  • Hi Liora!

yes, my entire life... I think germany has a special significance to all "ashkenaz" jews. It was source for all modern streams of judaism (including the 'modern orthodoxy'), some kind of jewish "think tank". Today the things are much more different.

  • Shalom Chaijm
Very much enjoyed seeing your blog. I was born in Germany and am presently living on a kibbutz in Israel. I hope to visit Germany very soon.
